Somebody once told me that a trip around the country really makes you appreciate New York. I didn't believe them. Now I do. It is stunning how EMPTY these cities are. They have buildings sure, quite nice ones too. It is just that there are so few people around. Where is everyone?
And the space between the buildings, there is just so much of it. It was as if people were planning for a boom that never quite happened. These cities would have been stunning to visit back in the 1920s and 30s when they probably felt like they were on top of the world.
